How to Sprout Buckwheat Groats,
Buckwheat grouts are not something you see much of in today's standard American diet. Yet, they are quite nutritious, especially when you sprout them. They are super easy to sprout and can be added to salads or dehydrated. Once dehydrated, I call them 'Buck Crunchies". And by the way, buckwheat does not contain any wheat or gluten. Despite the name, buckwheat is not closely related to wheat, it isn't even a grain.
Buck crunchies are great additions to various recipes: You can sprinkle them over salads, add them to yogurt, smoothies, and personally, I add them to my favorite chocolate recipe, which gives it kinda a Nestle crunch flare.
How to Sprout Organic Buckwheat Grouts
Soak and sprout: begin by placing a cup or more buckwheat groats in a glass jar, cover with water and allow to soak for 4-8 hours.
Place in Colander: Pour entire contents of glass jar in a colander and rinse well.
Leave groats in colander and allow to sprout … usually takes a couple days. I cover colander with a paper or kitchen towel over them. I will usually rinse once during this phase.
Once sprouted, with tiny tails, I will place what I want to use in a glass container and store in refrigerator. The remaining sprouts, which is most of them, I dehydrate.

Dehydrating sprouted buckwheat grouts is super easy and so fast. Place sprouted grouts on a teflex dehydrator sheet and dehydrate at 118 degrees for approximately 6-8 hours, or until crunchy.
Once dehydrated, store them in a glass container in the pantry. They store for quite some time.
